sonu27
I have now got a new email address at hotmail.co.uk and have a problem. This account does not work in Outlook 2003. Does anybody know how to fix this? I need the url settings for hotmail.co.uk. Thanks.
prathapml
Outlook is a POP/IMAP mail-client.Hotmail doesn't offer access to mails thru those protocols, for free accounts anymore. So you need to pay-up, or be satisfied with web-mail. Jotnar
I think they said you'll be able to get email that way until about March, at which time it will be for paying customers only.Cheers
10forcash
Yahoo.co.uk still has POP3 access - even though 'those across the pond' lost it on free acounts over 2 years ago...Hotmail.co.uk, in the interests of a competitive market probably still does in the UK too. I don't use hotmail so I don't know the settings, try looking on the help pages for hotmail, or experiment with settings like mail.hotmail.co.uk or pop3.hotmail.co.uk, pop.hotmail.co.uk etc.Cheers,10forcashps. you could always set up a yahoo.co.uk account and forward all your hotmail to there, then use SMTP / POP3 for long enough until eveyone knows your yahoo.co.uk address..... or set up your own mail server! 10forcash
failing that, you can alwats set it up in outlook as an HTTP account, although this is view only, not cachedCheers,10forcash
