Can a directory be hidden by reg key or ne script?

Your trick needs no special program to unlock that folder.

Simply, anyone can go to a DOS prompt and type ren tech* data and they're done.

nope, i tried this well.. on windows xp that is.. and it came back with

I know my DOS, so i know i did the command correctly

but i believe when the asterik (*) is put there, it looks for files not folders.

but you'll still see the folder in dos. but just be smart and don't put the folder right off the C drive and you'll be fine against 95% of the people.

You said it works under WinMe and below. I tested it under Win98SE, however. I got the result I reported earlier. Be careful of your teacher! B)
