Of those four I'd say smoothwall is the best, it's secure, well built and has lots of add on modules. As for IPCop, well... you'd have a harder time getting into a packet of chips.

In general remeber that their all based around a linux kernel so if you want to stay secure, update, update, update!

One other solution is FREESCO, it's a small open source router / firewall that is lots of fun and very felxable. It's not up there with the big boys, but it's not bloated with junk either which makes it easier to secure, very effective in the right hands. :thumbup

Okay, do you have any other suggestions for a firewall, since you, as far as i read it, don't like the linux ones?

no from what i read he just says you have to keep them updated

clark connect is nice havent played with it recently though

smoothwall is brilliant though just make sure you run the auto update feature
