techniquefreak Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 If you use a piece of sw every day like OS or AV software - I think it's quite fair that the author gets paid in some way e.g. per donation or purchase. Other than that there's a load of free software available which does just fine for many tasks. If one really wants to demo a program - there are usually demo versions available ready at hand - so no need to crack it just to try it out ...
Molly Dawn Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 depends on the context. If its to make money off the pirated product then absolutely, I'd report them in a heartbeat. On the other hand, if its just someone doing it occasionally for personal use either because they can't afford the product, or want to 'try before they buy' then its hard to say, but most likely I would look the other way.
