onthelimit Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Greetings,I'm new to this board. Hope to get some great help and advice as well as dole some out. I have recently had some major problems with my integrated audio. One fine day, the audio just went out -- no system sounds, no music (mp3 & CD). I tried reinstalling the drivers. Fortunately, it worked. Now, here's where the complication begins: the audio will work when I install the drivers, but when I reboot, there will be no sound again! This problem has really been frustrating me. Please advise.System specs:Dell Dimension 4500SIntel P4 1.8GHz, 845G chipset512MB RAMSoundmax integrated digital audio
XtremeMaC Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 1st advice use titles that actually means something and briefly explains your problem... so avoid help, do u know what'd happen if everyone was to title their problems help? try an updated driver, i also use soundmax integrated no problems so far.. install the chipset drivers as well.and check if u've accidentially clicked on mute button....
jaclaz Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 you could try to uninstall devices, reboot, then let plug 'n play ask you for the drivers. To uninstall devices, right click MY COMPUTER > Hardware Tab > Device Manager buttononce there, select (highlight) each sound device and Remove it.Reboot,Let Windows re-detect devices, if it asks for them point to the new drivers.jaclaz
onthelimit Posted September 17, 2004 Author Posted September 17, 2004 Tried both the options suggested in the replies. Even if I let Plug and play auto-detect hardware, I don't get sound. Tried chipset drivers as well. Any other ideas?PeaceP.S. Sorry 'bout the title
