Cannot run defrag in windows xp HELP

Recommended Posts

Everytime I want to run defrag, at 13% he gets a message windows is going to shutdown to prevent damage to your system

Clear startup environment

Removed old compressed files

Try to clean everything from startup folder, seems that some program is giving you a bottleneck..

Although this looks to me like a hard disk error..

I agree with unicorn, try to scan your disk for errors

yes do the scandisk and tell it to do a surface scan too.

Hi guys and gals,

Tell me, how do you do a scandisk in windows XP, as I cannot find any command for that in any menu. What am I overlooking and what should I know that I do

not know presently?

I am brilliant, but I do have failings... :(

dakota u remind me of a dating game i saw several years ago.

the host said to the guy you have been on the show before but not picked.

the host then continued to say... i hear your corrected a problem of yours.

he said oh, yes, i use to be conceited.....but now i am perfect. lol :)

i suggest u download trial version of diskeeper pro, do a search on google. it is the most advance defrag prog on the market today.

Hi,

Heheh, well no one is perfect, however I wish to thank you for your words of wisdom. :)

It is always nice to have fun here without being serious all the time.

I checked out my disk with the info I got from here, and all is well. ;)
