What kind of tool are you looking for anyway?

To run within your OS, or independently as an aid to recovery?

Acronis TrueImage 8 is fantastic for backing up and recovering without bothering about the OS being in an operable state. Acronis has many more tools in the category you want as well - Acronis home-page.

again to all...compare price and ease of use and you forget about arconis, ghost and other expencive software that have to be installed before it can even backup.

snapshot runs from a single exe 130KB big or should i say small...

I'm also searching for the good backup and imaging tool, so I'm considering to download a free trial of Acronis as prathapml have it suggested..

Also I'm considering Ghost 9...

@visaversa

That looks really interesting, can you post a link to snapshot's home page?

yes, of course, the link is in my first post.

I, we use it all the time, after a full install we take a snap to a seperate partition.

automate it via the scheduler. It runs and even backup open files without problems.

oh, and lets not forget the price: SNAPSHOT Workstation License Email Version EUR 39.- thats about $42 peanuts...
