takuma2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 If they were giving him a good reason to pay attention, he probably wouldn't be looking for a solution like this in the first place. Any fix I can think of for this would leave the rest of the computer as a gaping security hole, not just for you. You can go to start->run->gpedit.msc and (if possible) right click on "local computer policy" and click properties. Click the two checkboxes, install your software, and then unclick the checkboxes. Might work, but probably not. My college is a bit more understanding. That, or you could just get a laptop.... There is no Start>>Run option in my college computers, they have blocked them.somebody told me to transfer MSN Messenger folder from my home computer to college computer, i did that but when i clicked on msnmsgr.exe, a message comes up saying it does not recognise .exe setup. I know its because they have protected all the .exe setup and maybe some other formats too. Whenever i download a .exe setup and when i try to install, the computer does not recognise it.
XtremeMaC Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 hey since they've enabled some filenames try renaming 1 of the exe's? maybe that'll work?? like change it to winword.exe?
takuma2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 I have tried renaming it but it didnt work.
Wasim Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 takuma, the school have obviously used policies in the active directory, the only way to by-pass these restrictions is to log on as an admin group member. lol there is no way you can get what you are wanting to work, with so much security policies in place.
Dessip Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 To get arround the web block, try going to fr3.idzap.com and enter the username and password as bobismyname.Dessip
XtremeMaC Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 @wasim that may be the case but he's saying his friends did it in some way. I doubt that they stole the admin password.. (they could with nice small mosty linux apps or windows apps) if u really want to go there just to login to messenger...
