Does anyone have a way to get rid of the "For testing purposes only" message.... I just did the SP1 1106 update but because I couldn't do a clean install I still have the message....

If you installed SP1 1106 Final, there is no message like that.

did you have a beta in before that? or windows Media player 9 beta? they both add that.

Yeah, I just did the update and there is no such message on my desktop. Wonder if you installed a beta prior.

If you don't want to download the tool, you can manually remove a couple of entries from the registry:
