edgruberman Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 I have installed the hacked SFC_OS.DLL, allowing me to disable WFP in SP2. If I understand correctly, there is a hacked SFCFILES.DLL out there for SP2 that has the xerox, gaming zone, frontpage, etc. stripped out? Can anyone point me to this file or is this something you must make yourself?A hacked SFCFILES.DLL seems like a more focused and graceful solution (not to mention secure!) and any info would be appreciated.boottothehead,ed
bucketbuster Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 I believe there is only a version for SP1.But to be honest: I used that version in SP2 and it worked.
RyanVM Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Send me an IM and I'll send you one that's already ModifyPE'd and compressed (ready to go in i386).

RyanVM Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 SP2 (I patched and tested it myself). With this patched version, you can delete any folder in Program Files that used to be protected by SFC.http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/SFCFILES.DL_

RyanVM Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 sfcfix.exe was posted in the SFC_OS patched for SP2 thread. Basically, I just patched it, did the necessary modifype and makecab work to it. But yes, I did test it in VirtualPC and it worked like a charm.
SiMoNsAyS Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 i've read that post many times and i cab the sp1 file but i didn't take care of the sfcfix.exe file, i just downloaded the already created dll and cab it. my mistake
