Famer Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 if it's for gaming then pci-x ati or geforce cards if its non gaming rig then 3dlabs Vp990 or this one http://www.3dlabs.com/products/product.asp?prod=293
XtremeMaC Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Looks like you have been victim of some mis-information......There's NO AGP 16x - and no proposals of one either. The AGP slot peters out at the v3.0 standard (which is 8x). All graphics cards beyond that will have to move to PCI-Express.The PCI-X standard used on some Intel-based servers have a very high bandwidth slot (x16). That's what you are confusing with the graphics....LOL, I'm gonna steal your line now XtremeMaC :You need a good vacation (been getting confused a lot recently). (just kidding, no offence meant)a crap no 16x is for pci express they pretend that its like agp 16x bc of bandwidth okay! I know what it is! just came from a short vacation sorry don't have more time for vacation.u guys should try to understand better in stead of trying to find my mistakes! no offense!can we drop this? I had just said why buy a $400+ card if its going to work on a lower performancefor a lower price he could get a better card which will better suit his mb...
SiMoNsAyS Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 a little correction, PCI-(E)xpress it's not the same as PCI-(X). first one it's the next standart for home users and PCI-X it's for servers.
GeneralMandible Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 For the price you are looking at, just get the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 or 256. I have the 128 and everything plays just fine.
