that old "nigerian" scam email

Well known to many on the net, but ive never recieved my own copy of that scam, until today.

i thought id post it, theres always a few people suprisingly who have never heard of it even, that and its a good laugh. so, just incase any of you get this and fancy losing your identity and possibly funding terrorists such as osama bin lid' take note...

usually the message is exactly the same, sometimes the countries, figures and senders "identity" change, in any case if you send your details they will open accounts in your name, empty your bank details, apply for passports, you name it.

Hence this message to you seeking your assistance so as to enable me present your private/company account details as a beneficiary of contractual claims alongside that of the Bulgarian contractor, to enable me transfer the difference of US$21,500,000.00 (Twenty One Million, Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) into your provided account.

There is another type of email scam going around similar to that one. I got one the other day that used my name to generate email from a lawyer claiming to be searching for heirs to another guy with my last name who died in Africa with his family and $55 million dollars.

It was quite funny - she kept leading him on and on and on and on...... to the point that she was finally asking him for money. One of those emails caught me on a bad day. I went through the headers and sent emails out to the hosts of the two domains that the email had been sent from. I then forwarded a copy of the email with it's headers to the fraud squad. In the UK we have a special department that just deals with this scam. I then sent a reply to the email telling them what I had done. Strangely the email's author never took the time to thank me for my efforts.

This nigerian email scam was mentioned on Watchdog last week. Must have been a big scam
