Now that would be really amusing, thought not for GM. Install XPcreate, and the virusscanner reports a virus. lol. Sorry, couldn't resist.

As McAfee says it's not a virus nor a trojan, it's a tool that is commonly used by viruses and trojans. Therefore a virus scanner wont pick up on it, though a program such as Pest Patrol might. Have you thought to run Pest Patrol GM?

Actually, DisabledTrucker, I have found the file I was looking d=for, thus my BIG THANKS to Bilou_Gateux. Whether that is the best file for what I need remains to be seen. As for Pest Control, I really dislike Anti Virus programs in general, and only use one when I see something has gone amiss with my installation, and I am quite sure I have "caught" something.

Thanks for your help and suggestions, particularly the links to similar files.

For what it's worth McAfee does pick up WGET. I don't know if it would "clean" it: never tried.
