Famer Posted August 7, 2004 Posted August 7, 2004 Npthe ones i listed are all very good i may have missed some like normandesk top i think thats the name but it comes down to user choice.most users on here will say norton is good but you have to try to compare them and take your time
prathapml Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 The best, in my opinion is Symantec AntiVirus 9.0 Corporate Edition. I would have recommended NAV2k4, but that doesn't run on WS2k3!
roy1984 Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Pc-cillin 2003 !!!! pc-cillin always !!! Cheer !!!!
Justice Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 The best, in my opinion is Symantec AntiVirus 9.0 Corporate Edition. I would have recommended NAV2k4, but that doesn't run on WS2k3!Will SAV8.1 run on 2K3?
prathapml Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Will SAV8.1 run on 2K3?Yes. And 9.0 too.The advantages about SAV are:1. Known reputation/brandname.2. Reliability3. Compatibility4. Speed of support5. Update regularity6. Friendly to installing unattended7. Faster (UI), and faster scanning than NAV8. Doesn't bog-down windows with hooks everywhere.and other benefits which you start seeing only once you use an alternative, and miss the old tried-and-tested AV.
prathapml Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Thanks for the addition to the list.Could you all please mention which are the antivirus apps which work without using work-arounds on WS2k3. Please only add apps if it hasn't already been mentioned above.
Xspectrum Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 The best, in my opinion is Symantec AntiVirus 9.0 Corporate Edition.Yes for 2k3 (and in my opinion in all windows versions ) the bether choose is the Norton Antivirus Corporate 7,8 or 9 all of them slight and they don't consume a lot system resources
