IcemanND Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 THe problem is that the "Empty Recylce Bin" option is not on the context menu for the Recycle Bin and the "Properties" function returns "Properties for this item not available". All available patches are installed and there are no viruses or spyware. Any ideas?
SiMoNsAyS Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 like a temporal solution you can press shift while supr and the items will be directly deleted without passing for the recycle bin. also i have seen any time in the unattended>regtweaks section a regkey that cause directly delete but i can not help you to restore the option on the context menu.ps: maybe i'm mistaking but... what if you install objectdock?? include your recycle bin on the dock and see what happens
MCT Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 what if u try 2 repair the rightclick menu? im not sure of the key's, but try msfn or http://winguides.com also.. norton will mess with your recyclebin.. maybe try removing that?regards
IcemanND Posted July 29, 2004 Author Posted July 29, 2004 no Norton install or objectdock. This is machine which has been up and running for awhile and was not built with a cusom cd. I'll check out winguides and see if there is anything there. Let you know tomorrow.
sleepnmojo Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 There is a reg key that disables it. This disables it.[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]"NoPropertiesRecycleBin"=dword:0000001Change that to a 0, or just delete it. Also check HKCU
