dkreifus
I am trying to share folders on my Windows XP machine.I have simple file sharing enabled. And when I go to a folder to share, and I select Sharing and Security, the entire page is grayed out.Is there a registry, Service, or some kind of setting I may have disabled? BAM
Can u give us a small screenshot with that..?Perhaps its a permission thingy?
riZz
Maybe u don't have admin privileges...dont know if this would effect this from happening.
Curv Boll
You dont need admin rights to share, you can share if you created the folder or a member of a group that has been given permission to share such as the power users.Have you tried creating a new folder and then sharing it?? Phyridean
Check to make sure (in the properties of your network adapter) that File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks hasn't been uninstalled or omitted. I've had this problem before, and I think that worked.
enuffsaid
Do you login with a password? If you don't, set yourself a password and try again.
