Outlook Express

I know, I know, Outlook Express is not an "office" product , but i didnt know where else to post. I'm extremely frustrated...here's the prob:

I've been using outlook express for two years, something possessed me to try to switch to Microsoft Outlook. I must be a moron cause i couldnt figure out how to do it...NOw...when i try to send a file via email using the right click short cut (you know, the one where it gives you the option to send to " floppy, or desktop, etc.)...i'm only given the option to send to mail recipient using Microsoft Outlook.

I dont want to do that CAUSE MICROSOFT OUTLOOK DOESNT WORK!!!! (sorry!). Anybody know how i can get it back to Send to Mail Recipient using Outlook Express?

You need to go to X:\Documents and Settings\Insert Name Here\Sendto\ - if this is not visible in Windows Explorer, then type the full path in Start > Run.

I've deleted Mail Recipent from my SendTo Menu (just cleaning up ), so I won't know exactly what to do, but try this: Edit the properties of the Mail Recipent shortcut and change the path if it lets you.

Right now it could be at X:\Program Files\Office\Outlook.exe or something similar. Change the path to: X:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe

See if that works.

Aaron, i was able to change the target to X:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe

which does bring up the send to option on the right click...but it says, send to outlook express....and then opens up outlook express....but it doesnt generate an email with the file attached to it

Try Tools | Internet Options | Programs | E-Mail. Set it to Outlook express.

YUP - Piaqt is correct. Make sure Outlook Express is the default email client and you should be good to go.

Yeah, looking thorugh this post i would definatly say have Outlook as a default, because if you installed Office, Outlook will be the default so set Express as your default!!
