Wasim Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 Hey all. i just updated my pc and there was a critical update on microsofts site about direct x, well i added that to be downloaded and installed. at the same time microsoft update downloaded direct x 9 for the pc. what is direct x? will it have anything to do with how the pc runs from now on?
Tarun Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 DirectX handles graphics and such. Mainly used with gaming applications. If you installed the patch then obviously you needed it and it will ensure that your computer is one step closer to being secure.
XtremeMaC Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 If you installed the patch then obviously you needed itnot neccessarily because dx is included with xp... so it just wants to update its core componentsbut its a critical update so yes even if u don't do any gaming u could say its neccessary.... it deals with sound network i/o devices graphics etc..
