i'm thinking you mean autocomplete in Internet explorer..

i don't think you can edit it , but you can clear it by going to Tools > Internet options > Content Tab > Autocomplete > Clear Forms

If you have made an error, so that a mis-spelled entry keeps showing up - you can delete just that entry without clearing the whole list. When youstart to type - and the appropriate entries drop down - just highlight the incorrect one and press the delete key. The 'bad' item will be gone.

I was trying to delete a drop down entry in a couple of programs and they would not delete.

Maybe in others they do delete.
