dcromwell Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Well, after my issues with the NTFS.SYS and then the Indeo codec files (which I researched and was able to correct this little bug) I have come up with an Unattended XP SP2 disk which works beatifully. I now have a quick question. Is it possible to integrate future releases (beta or otherwise) of XP SP2 "on top of" an older version? Or do I have to start over from my SP1A CD again?
jondercik Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 Best bet to ensure everything works correctly is to just start from the SP 1a disc again.
dcromwell Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 I would concur that that is probably the "best bet" and would definitely insure that everything works as it should. Has anyone tried integrating SP2 on top of an older verstion though? It should replace any of the bad files...???
dcromwell Posted May 20, 2004 Author Posted May 20, 2004 serialz,If you are asking whether you can Integrate SP2 on top of SP1, the answer is, yes.
neophyte Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I would actually integrate SP2 onto a non SP'd XP. SP2 is inclusive of all SP1 patches anyway...
[BM]Crusher Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I tested SP2 RC1 by integrating it into a copy of my SP1a fully unattended disk, and it worked ok, I didn't notice any side effects... the unattneded install still worked too
