I have finally managed to get Intellitype Pro 5 and Intellimouse 5 to be part of my unattended setup. I can now do a silent installation of both these apps with customized keys and mouse button settings, which are included in the installation package. The installation uses an msi file for installation and the standard msi parameters. However there are a few things that are to be ironed out and as soon as I get those done, I will either post the msi file here or step-by-step instructions on how to do a silent installation of the above.

All you need to do is make a copy of the Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro folder, replace it on format (just stick it in the $1\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro\ dir, and then get type32.exe to run on startup (using the registry). You can then change the keys just by pressing the buttons, however, once you've bound them I dont htink you can readjust them (maybe there is another exe in there that does it) but the registry keys for them are.

I am able to do and unattended install on both of them without a problem. However the problem I am having is uninstalling it. If I include the *.msi's in the unattended and install them, no matter what I do, I am not able to uninstall the software using the modified *.msi's. I gotta look into this more and see why this is happening. Will keep this topic updated.

I've got a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard (its got the My docs, my pics, my music, mute, play, stop, vol up, vol down, prev, next, media, mail, web home, messenger buttons on it) I think the keyboard mappings may be the same for all the keyboards with added ones depending on how many buttons it has, could be wrong though.

Does anyone know how to have the "F Lock" key on the Microsoft Natural MultiMedia Keyboard come on automatically when Windows starts?

I use the Function keys more than the Help|Undo|Redo|New, etc keys, so I would like to have it automatically turn on.

Thanks,

Cory :)

Why don't you use the Microsoft authorized method?

D:\Intellimouse\OEMsetup.exe D:\Intellimouse\oemsetup.ini

OEMSEUP.ini

[MOUSE]
LANGUAGE=1033
DEVICE=IMO
SHORTCUTS=0

You'll need to create the oemsetup.ini file with the options above. The DEVICE= determines what type of mouse you have:

Valid Device Settings

Example: DEVICE=IMO

IntelliPoint software may be pre-installed for use with the Microsoft IntelliMouse (IM), the Microsoft

IntelliMouse Explorer (IME), the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.x (IME3), the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer

4.x (IME4), the Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical (IMO), the Microsoft IntelliMouse Web (IMW), the Microsoft

Mouse (MM), the Microsoft TrackBall Explorer (TE), the Microsoft TrackBall Optical (TO), the Microsoft Wheel

Mouse Optical (WMO), the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer (WIME), the Microsoft Wireless

IntelliMouse Explorer 2.x (WIME2), the Microsoft Wireless Wheel Mouse (WWM), Microsoft Basic Optical

Mouse (BOM), the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse (WOM), or the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.x

(WOM2).

Search finds the answer too, with other solutions as well

I see in another post that it launches a seperate process though so the oemsetup way probably isn't what we want. I would imagine runonceex handles situations the same way as start /wait does?

where is the documentation on the oemsetup for the intelli software microsofts site doens't produce any info.

It's on the systembuilder site.

I'm looking up the IntelliType in a minute...
