CuBie
Hi all.Im trying to get an internet browser in windows pe. Ive tryed firefox, but when i run firefox.exe nothing happens. I suspect this is somthing to do with a ramdrive? If anybody knows how to get firefox to work with a ramdrive OR knows a browser that will work in pe that'all be great! Thanks!Chris. CuBie
Got it to work with FireFox. Had to edit the registry to make the docs and settings temp files folder onto the B: ramdrive. I attached the reg file to this post.Chris.profiles.regprofiles.reg
drmarvin
Mozilla Embedded works with no configuration. Runs javascript and everything. I've found it's the best for PE.
x86
Do you prefer mozilla? If not, why not use ie?
gosh
Awhile ago i got mozilla working in winpe using a switch, and by hexing a file in the profile. You can edit the file with a hex edit, or you could run mozilla/firebird with the -p or -profile switch which will prompt you to create a profile. The -p switch works best because the hex edit doesn't always work.-gosh
Michael.Patten
Does anyone know how to enable IE in PE?I would rather remain with the "MS Standard" programs...Will now try exporting Reg settings, and copying Progfiles\IE to PE CD.Will let you know how I go... May need ramdrive... would rather not.Rgds,Michael.
big_gie
Firefox (and Thunderbird too) now supports the "-Profile" switch, which let it run from a portable media:Create a profile under <firefox path>\profile and run FF like this:firefox.exe -Profile \profileI think you will need to edit the <firefox path>\profile\chrome\chrome.rdf to change to relative path to make your extensions works. See this thread for more info.
