Mann Posted May 10, 2004 Posted May 10, 2004 is it possible to place a folder into c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu.this folder contain installed softwares shortcuts which i categorized e.g Burning Tools,Multimedia,Utility...Any guide is much appreaciated.Thanks.
Alanoll Posted May 10, 2004 Posted May 10, 2004 please use a more descriptive title, then just "Folder"
Mann Posted May 10, 2004 Author Posted May 10, 2004 If you were to do this during your unattended install, once you log in as Administrator for the first time, it will create a NEW profile directory, probably named "Administrator.COMPUTERNAME".Use the "all users" or "default user" profile instead, or wait till AFTER you have logged in once as Administrator before copying your shortcuts.manage to get it done by winrar.sfx but need to know if there is any method to get it done besides this cos by using winrar.sfx i had to specifically direct this folder to the desired place but on a dualboot system e.g WinME and WinXP c drive is WinME whereas d drive is WinXP and thus the attended folder got placed on c drive instead of d drive
killerbee Posted May 10, 2004 Posted May 10, 2004 hi,you could also use shortcut.exe to create shortcuts unattended. I use it to create shortcuts for programs that have no installer. But u can use it to create shortcuts for all your programs. Shortcut.exe can be found here on the forums - just search for it...hope this helps a bitcyaKiller Bee
