New Youtube ads getting past ad blockers are ads for an ad blocker

Somewhat annoying is that some Youtube videos now start with an unskippable ad despite using ad blockers. I didn't know if there was a thread in regards to this in a non GD location.

While I find the ad intrusion to be extremely annoying, it is still funny to me that the ad I see on Youtube videos is for a paid ad blocker.

The most annoying situation is when I open a video, wait to skip the advertisements, then immediately seek on the timeline to a spot of interest without watching more than a couple seconds, and another set of advertisements then play.

I can't say that I remember those advertisements. With autoplay disabled, YouTube shows a static picture with some writing that doesn't burn into memory. I still have to wait to skip it. I think the new Opera browser was shown, but maybe that was a sponsored segment.

Since the blocking on YouTube is now very complicated, I haven't even invenstigated what I need for it, and keep that thing updated.

Guys, either of you know how to exclude "shorts" from searches, when not logged in?

I only go there while logged in but they could really use a better search overall. Besides shorts, it often gives results for things other people have watched which are never relevant to what I typed in. I wish all sites that had a search even Google or Ebay had an advanced option you could set where it would just give you results based on what you typed and not all that fluff they want to make money with.

I search youtube on Google site:youtube.com. Search on the site itself brings up very approximate results that repeat. Too bad num=X argument just stopped working on Google. Maybe they read MSFN.

Doesn't suit me since youtube was so kind to permanently block my account when I moved to Canada from Denmark.

Websites can be weird at times, idk why. I got banned on Venmo just by registering an account. And I got banned on Whatsapp by opening the app on my phone after I took the sim card out.
