StartAllBack Taskbar Jumplist behavior difference

It's great that StartAllBack now includes it's own Win10-style taskbar for Win11. But the new StartAllBack jumplists behave differently from the original in one way that I think is a problem:

  • In the MS original the Recent list does not show items that are already in the Pinned list.
  • In StartAllBack, if a pinned item has been opened recently it also shows in the lower Recent list. And worse, if you "Remove from this list" an item from the Recent list that is also pinned, it unpins it as well.

I think the original MS behavior works better. But even if pinned items remain included in the Recent list, removing them from the Recent list should not also unpin them.

I often want to remove items from the Recent list to get access to earlier Recent items, but that doesn't mean I want to unpin them.

Thanks.

I see it with Excel and Word 365, which are the only apps where I use jumplists. See the attached screenshot for the lower portion of my Excel jumplist, showing the same [xxxx]2024.xlsx file in both the Pinned and Recent lists. The other 2 obfuscated Recent entries are also in the Pinned list. (I have jumplists configured for 30 entries, so there are 27 pinned entries for Excel.)

I'm using StartAllBack 3.8.11 with Win11 23H2, but it has worked this way since the built-in Win10 taskbar was added.

Correction: I just remembered that I also use the Wordpad jumplist, and I don't see the same problem there: opening a pinned Wordpad item does not seem to add it to the Recent list, unlike with Word and Excel.

Looks to be fixed in 3.8.13. I no longer see (very) recently opened pinned items in the Recent list for Word or Excel.
