pangoomis Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Grab a cheap USB Sound Card for sound...or ask @deomsh if you want to enter the unholy territory of the Win3.1 HD Audio driver...
Leokids123 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) I wonder.... If you still need some help,here's how you find Geforce Go 7 drivers... First,go to Nvidia's drivers website Then select "Geforce" Then you select Geforce Go 7 Series (Notebooks) You can choose any product you may want.... Then choose any OS,i'll chose Windows XP for this. Then find it. This is Geforce Release 179 for notebooks,You can use that if it's compatible. I wonder if there's any 9x drivers,though? Edited December 24, 2024 by Leokids123 Got it incorrect! ugh!
Joaquim Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 they are installed, but, sometimes, i can get the Black Screen
archIvarIus3k Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) I had simillar model in past. Looks like some drivers, which i had for that laptop could work also on Windows 9x. Some stuff were taken here (https://digiex.net/threads/acer-aspire-as5633wlmi-laptop-vista-windows-7-x64-drivers.119/) and other just downloaded somewhere else several years ago. Unfortunately, i sure only about Card Reader driver (since other stuff requires at least 2000). https://mega.nz/folder/hmVhVQhL#apTGDi4xF5jHT0UmocVUGA Also here is changelog from Synaptics Pointing Device, it has info about versions, which have Windows 9x support (8.3.17 and earlier), but i have only later release without that. Can't say anything about video and audio drivers, since i used on this laptop only XP and 7, and almost all saved software (including some Acer tools)/drivers were for them only. Upd. Also added Acer-specific stuff and some rare non-Acer drivers. Edited January 6 by archIvarIus3k 2
Joaquim Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 (edited) archIvarIus3k: please can you share, too the nvidia geforce go 7300 and High Definition Audio drivers? ok... i get it... but 'Vista x64 Drivers'..... i will try it.. thanks anotherthing: the 'Changelog for Synaptic Pointing Device' folder, have only a text file Edited January 5 by Joaquim
archIvarIus3k Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Yep, only changelog, since i had version 9.0.3c and it's not declared Windows 9x compatibality. Also my saved video (179.48) and sound (R281) drivers are Windows Vista/7 versions only. Upd. Added that 9.0.3c driver. Edited January 5 by archIvarIus3k
Joaquim Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 i have the Unofficial NVidia Drivers 82.69: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/04/unofficial-nvidia-drivers-8269.html the driver is installed, but i get, sometimes, the Black Screen.... i tried the HDA drivers: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/05/scitech-snap-audio-nt-40.html but no luck too.. i can try again
archIvarIus3k Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Maybe you should install chipset driver before all that stuff? Of course, if 945pm express chipset driver presented in Windows 9x compatible releases. But on other hand, it was laptop from period of XP/Vista era, so not surprised about it bad work under 98. Edited January 5 by archIvarIus3k
Joaquim Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 1 - i installed Unofficial Windows 98/ME NVIDIA Display Driver 82.69 with PTCHNVSZ, but i continue: - the Black Screen Sometimes; - it's detected 125MB's of VRAM, instead 256MB's(like on Windows XP). 2 - i installed SciTech SNAP Audio NT 4.0: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/05/scitech-snap-audio-nt-40.html but i must KernelEx for install it.... but the driver isn't installed no luck on Windows 3.1/95/98/ME HDA Driver: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/06/windows-31959898se-hda-driver.html maybe isn't compatible with my laptop theres more drivers that i can't install: 1 - Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.. theres no for Windows 9X, i belive; 2 - High Definition Audio Device, like i tell; 3 - Intel(R) N10/ICH7 Family PCI Express Root Port - 27D4 ... i can't find it; 4 - the modem: HDA CX11254 Soft Modem HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP.. ican't find it;
archIvarIus3k Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) I guess that Family PCI Port is some thing, that has driver inside intel chipset driver. I uploaded some other stuff, which i still have. https://mega.nz/folder/hmVhVQhL#apTGDi4xF5jHT0UmocVUGA All drivers for network i have and uploaded not mentioning Windows 98 support. But looks like one of Suyin drivers for camera mentions 9x compatibality (5.7.16). Maybe it will work, idk. Upd. Also did you tried this - https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/06/intel-ich-2345678910-chipset-drivers-9x.html ? I945 chipset never had official support for 9x, only unofficial driver from LoneCrusader. If you don't care about 3d, VBEMP driver can be used instead of Nvidia unofficial version. Can't found any sound/network drivers with 98 and ME support. I guess it's better to try install Win 9x on older hardware. Upd 2. Checked internet again, most of this laptop hardware never had drivers for systems older than Windows 2000 (except card reader). Edited January 6 by archIvarIus3k 1
Joaquim Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 1 st - thank you so much for all.. thank you. i installed several drivers.. thanks some drivers must be installed searching and not on 'setup'. now i need correct bugs: 1 - "ICH5(-R), ICH6(-R) and ICH7(-R) models require a SATA/RAID/AHCI driver" maybe i need it: https://archive.org/details/9x-sata-1.1a.-7z ; 2 - now lets speak about graphic card: nvidia geforce go 7300 with 256MB's VRAM(like Windows XP tells me... i can install the driver, but i see 2 bugs: - sometimes i get Black Screen.. i get it on boot, i must reboot the computer on power button(10 seconds); - why i get 128MB's on VRAM and not 256MB's? 3 - how can i install HDA on Windows 9X? i tried install SciTech SNAP Audio NT 4.0: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/05/scitech-snap-audio-nt-40.html with KernellEX, but the driver isn't installed... i can retried install the Windows 3.1/95/98/ME HDA Driver: https://retrosystemsrevival.blogspot.com/2019/06/windows-31959898se-hda-driver.html like you see, i have several problems on drivers maybe someone can help me fix the driver card and the right way for install, correctly, the HDA
