Isano Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) So I have these flash drives which I want to use to import to my laptop, but Windows 98 does not detect any of the flash drives in the device manager. I have installed this driver, https://electronicnoobblog.com/windows-98-usb-storage-driver-universal-flash-pendrive/ Which I guess worked to get my wireless mouse working, but I still can't get my flash drives working I also reformatted my flash drives to Fat32, but it still didn't work Also, this might be unrelated but when I try to shut down my computer, it gets stuck on the shut down screen and I have to hard shut down the computer, Which I heard could be caused by these drivers Edited August 26, 2022 by Isano
jumper Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Reinstall the hardware driver for your system's USB2 chipset. NUSB incorrectly says to delete these.
jaclaz Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 As a side note there are traditionally issues with the NUSB in case of non-English installs (or anyway non-matching-languages), you might want to try an alternative, simple, USB mass Storage driver, some info: https://msfn.org/board/topic/171620-usb-flash-drivers-for-98se/ If you installed a non-matching language version of NUSB, it is likely part of the problems. jaclaz
Isano Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 I'll be looking into this thread, but as far as I can tell, language shouldn't be an issue as I have an English install of Windows 98. Except if I misunderstood something
