On XP it is NOT DOS, it is a command prompt which uses the cmd.exe command processor of a NT system (which is NOT DOS) which is largely (but not entirely) capable of running DOS programs. That is the whole point. If you prefer, there is NO DOS (or MS-DOS) on a NT system. jaclaz
