killerbee
hi,after months of work in my UXPCD works almost perfect.Everything i want is installed and has shortcuts where i want them. Cleaning up is also successful.Only one thing remains and is split in two sections:1. Set another Browser/Mail (Pinned in Start Menu) as Standard2. Setting up Standard Apps for other formats (Like .avi to open with ViPlay as Standard Player. Pointing me to the right Key is the only thing i need.)Any help would be appreciatedcyaKiller Bee
Alanoll
avi files and assocation for other files types are stored in HKCR\.(extenstion)then in that key, the Default value in there is the next key to look for. It's also under HKCR. I just point this out, instead of telling directly, as some programs tend to change it without telling you.

killerbee
@alanoll,thank you very much. hmmm... it's path-dependant - now i only need to find that commandline tool that replaces variables with the path names to keep it drive-indipendantcyaKiller Bee
SiMoNsAyS
an old thread but finally how did you setup your regtweak to make it drive-indipendant?? i think it can be done with hex setting %systemroot%
thread
isnt there a way to use binary data for a reg_sz key? I believe it has to stay as a REG_SZ type key...and I just tested modifying the binary data to %programfiles%\ but is there a way to set a reg file to do that for you? Also, I dont see a point in using %systemdrive% since almopst all the programs are going to be in the Program Files dir anyways, I would just use %programfiles% as the "drive inependent" variable.
