kstev99 Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 I have had at least 10 Windows explorer crashes since updated to Windows 11 on 1/31/22. Usually happens when my computer is unattended, but today explorer crashed while I was in the middle of something. Upon investigation it appears the problem is with startallback , or possible something else conflicting with it. Any Idea what could be causing this? I just did update to StartallBack 3.3 today After this last explorer crash. Here is the short version, but the entire crash log is attached Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH EventTime=132892071289264510 ReportType=2 Consent=1 UploadTime=132892071292144521 ReportStatus=268435456 ReportIdentifier=618eef5d-32b1-46fd-8ada-70b265768560 IntegratorReportIdentifier=6e97e8cc-d08d-42aa-b1b4-3e2a03cfdc0e Wow64Host=34404 NsAppName=explorer.exe OriginalFilename=EXPLORER.EXE AppSessionGuid=000019d0-0001-001e-927c-4f7ea220d801 TargetAppId=W:0000f519feec486de87ed73cb92d3cac802400000000!000053fa292e148d65227910bac9be1ad498d17fabf9!explorer.exe TargetAppVer=1973//10//13:03:46:31!4d53e8!explorer.exe BootId=4294967295 ServiceSplit=3819490408 TargetAsId=5106 IsFatal=1 EtwNonCollectReason=1 Response.BucketId=55507288bad39588cda77cd2ba22b715 Response.BucketTable=4 Response.LegacyBucketId=2136813792718403349 Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Application Name Sig[0].Value=explorer.exe Sig[1].Name=Application Version Sig[1].Value=10.0.22000.469 Sig[2].Name=Application Timestamp Sig[2].Value=071cdc97 Sig[3].Name=Fault Module Name Sig[3].Value=StartAllBackX64.dll Sig[4].Name=Fault Module Version Sig[4].Value=3.2.2.4230 Sig[5].Name=Fault Module Timestamp Sig[5].Value=61e5c1e8 Sig[6].Name=Exception Code Sig[6].Value=c0000005 Sig[7].Name=Exception Offset Sig[7].Value=0000000000022ac7 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=10.0.22000.2.0.0.256.48 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=1033 DynamicSig[22].Name=Additional Information 1 DynamicSig[22].Value=9f74 DynamicSig[23].Name=Additional Information 2 DynamicSig[23].Value=9f743397023e6d755d700210136d620b DynamicSig[24].Name=Additional Information 3 DynamicSig[24].Value=c5ac DynamicSig[25].Name=Additional Information 4 DynamicSig[25].Value=c5ac19911358ec9e6febf68e46b59e01 UI[2]=C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe Crash Report.zip
Tihiy Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Import this http://startisback.com/Enable_Crash_Reports.reg Create C:\dumps folder After crash a dmp will be there, upload it
kstev99 Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Thanks, I created the dump folder and merged the ref file. Now I'll just wait for another crash.
kstev99 Posted February 18, 2022 Author Posted February 18, 2022 ';Today I had an explorer crash at 1027 and another at 1202. Not sure if it has anything to do with startallback, but i am attaching both crash dumps. in separate posts explorer.exe.17340.zip
Tihiy Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Well, seems StartAllBack can't play nice with Fences.
kstev99 Posted February 18, 2022 Author Posted February 18, 2022 I'll try disabling Fences for a while and see if the crashes stop. Thanks for looking into this. Do you think this will or can be addressed in future builds or do I need to decide between startallback and fences? (Hint: byebye fences)
Tihiy Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I've mitigated crashes but full compatibility is not possible yet http://startisback.com/StartAllBack_setup.exe
