trev Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I have unwanted toolbars on internet explorer everytime I go on the internet. I have no idea how to delete them. Everytime I go to a website, it appears again, then I need to right click and make it disappear. Then I go to anothe website, the unwanted toolbar appears again. I don't know how to delete the unwanted toolbar pernamently. Do you all know how to deal with this problem?
trev Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 Thanks! By the way, I use adaware everyday to remove the spyware so the toolbar will disappear. When I turn on the computer everyday, the toolbar appears again. Is there a way to make the toolbar disappear pernamently?
XtremeMaC Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 (edited) what's the name of the toolbar.i mean all those toolbars have a name and a place they're executed from. so tell us the name of google it to find details on it. it sounds like a spyware stuff so it could really be anywhere...and don't just get stuck on adaware, try other products like spybot pestpatrol etc...edit: Thanks Unwonted, i was trying to find the name of that program, saved me from banging my head Edited April 13, 2004 by XtremeMaC

trev Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 Follow this guid hereThat's a lot of steps! Can I only follow one of those steps or a few of them instead? Before I started this topic, I had zone alarm installed already this morning. It changed my internet connection and stuff like that, I had to quit it make the internet working again. Does that happen to you?
FthrJACK Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 use Spybot S+D in conjunction with Adaware. Adware misses some things and spybot misses others, but what one seems to fail at.. the other will prevail. also dont forget to download updates for them!http://www.safer-networking.org/
trev Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 I downloaded Sybot Search & Destroy. It's quite good. I think it detects spyware, malware, hijacks better than Adaware.
Schadenfroh Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 post your startuplist log from the startuplist program i linked in the other tread
