Hibernating isn't possible

Hi everyone,

today I am back with a different problem ;-)

I would like to activate the "Hibernate" option at the "Energy Settings" option.

The Problem I have, is that everytime I want to turn it on I get an error message telling me, that it is not possible to create the (necessary) file (hibernate.sys).

I tried to defrag, I killed every unnecesary process, the only thing I haven't tried yet is to go the "registry-way" by pasting the necessary reg key into the registry. I actually would like to avoid that and I have my doubts that it will work, as this won't create any file.

Does anybody know what to do (besides reinstallin my Windows XP)?

Thanks in advance,

Nephilim

Well atleast kind of, Jono ;-)

Yes I definately have enough of both of them and it worked perfectly fine before I reinsalled my Windows.

To be honest I already tried the "registry way". I extracted the entries from my desktop PC and applied them on my notebook. Long story short: IT WORKS!

If anyone is in need of help on how to get the registry data, just send me a message!

Thanks again to Jono.
