MSNwar Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Just received this in an email from- ZDNet Tech Update Today - and it answers some questions about my own problems with some of my Linksys routers that I have been experiencing in the past six months. Added it to my personal Tech Archive. My Linksys router/firewalls--old and new--have suffered a variety of Universal Plug-n-Play problems, port vulnerabilities and reliability issues. Apparently, a combination of engineering difficulties and design decisions are leaving Linksys customers exposed to potential security problems, including that new looming threat to all Internet users--the mini Distributed Denial of Service attack.Full article:Security issues move Linksys routers off the short list By David Berlindhttp://techupdate.zdnet.com/techupdate/sto...s_and_DDoS.html
gosh Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 I have a linksys router and ive never had any problems. Port forwarding has always worked fine for me. His article is rubbish:1: He's complaining that his 4 YEAR OLD router isn't working right2: Rather than taking responsibility that he has no idea what he's doing, he blames the firmware.3: He quotes steve gibson, the biggest loser on the internet.Just ignore the article.-gosh
