The FX 5500 should work. You can even try older Drivers such as 77.72. No Patches needed.

NUSB test

Rear and Internal Intel USB 3.0 header ports - does not work with anything.

Disabled USB 3.0 controller via BIOS to avoid pop up detection in the Device Manager.

2 Dead Intel USB 2.0 ports - works for USB Keyboard, but not USB Mouse. - Was due to an IRQ conflict but can be reactivated.  It might be worth sacrificing the two ports for a free IRQ.

6 Total USB 2.0 ports are available and working:
2 Rear Intel USB 2.0 ports - works with NUSB - works with USB mouse and USB keyboard.  USB hard drive readable.

4 Internal Intel USB 2.0 header ports with NUSB - works with USB mouse and USB keyboard. USB hard drive readable.

Restart in MS-DOS mode issues:

Could be up to a 30 second delay before the Command Prompt appears.

Loss of PS/2 Keyboard functionality if plugged into a USB Port.

Recommend keeping the PS/2 Keyboard plugged into the PS/2 Port in all situations.
