ravnous84 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Hello! I've recently downgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 7 (Server 2008 R2) and one thing annoys me a little. Window animations are not super-smooth. Vista, 8, 8.1 and 10 have VERY smooth window-opening animation, but not 7 I've been looking through registry editor and didn't find anything related to it. Is it even possible to enable "super-smooth" animations in Windows 7? And I don't want to completely disable animations.
jumper Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Server editions of Windows are optimized for best network performance, not user experience. Try: 1) reducing the number of services and background apps, 2) increasing the priority of Explorer.exe, 3) installing non-server Windows 7 (if available). Please report back to us with your results. Good luck!
vinifera Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 windows 7 (client) has smooth anims so should its server counterpart you either have bad graphic drivers or you didn't enabled all required services for UX
