To find out a system file's version (.dll, .cpl .ax, .exe etc.):

-> right click the file

-> choose properties

-> hit the tab "Version"

-> choose file version from elementname

if i were u i'd open a folder

go to detailed view and show "product version" and "file version"

that way u won't have to look at every frigging dll exe etc....

thx for the answers, atleast a board ppl wont s*** on me its a crazy idea...

anywhay, will this increase system performance or stability?

are all the files really changed?

i'm not sure, also i cant boot in xp right now, so i cant check the files :)

I bet swapping files between versions would probably decrease stability, not increase it  :)

Yep, I bet so, too. Why don't you install Windows 2003 and convert it to a workstation. This is even easier to do and less risky...

i did that, but i'm making me custom Windows version based of XP

i thought adding new system files would be a good final touch lol
