ok, is it somehow possible to replace all the newer system files in server 2003 with the ones from XP

i did this on Win98 with ME files...

i just dont have a list of the newer files

To find out a system file's version (.dll, .cpl .ax, .exe etc.):

-> right click the file

-> choose properties

-> hit the tab "Version"

-> choose file version from elementname

if i were u i'd open a folder

go to detailed view and show "product version" and "file version"

that way u won't have to look at every frigging dll exe etc....

i'm not sure, also i cant boot in xp right now, so i cant check the files

Yep, I bet so, too. Why don't you install Windows 2003 and convert it to a workstation. This is even easier to do and less risky...

i did that, but i'm making me custom Windows version based of XP

i thought adding new system files would be a good final touch lol
