Ok I extracted things using the /a switch and compress the results: I get a 19 Mb rar file. thats better :)

Will I still be able to run with a transform file? Thank you very much :rolleyes:

Yes, you can still use a transform.

I have only had one product (Roxio 5) that had a problem with a tranform once I did a admin install. And that was solved by recreating the transform from the admin install rather than the media install.

pitty he already has it working.....and it wasn't the transform that was causing the problem....

he was trying to make it so he didn't have to extract it from the original FEAD compressor.

I must admit my problem wasnt from a mst. I think mst are great and simple: as allanol said, you don't edit the original things: you just create a kind of "setup script". If someday I want to install it normaly, then I will be able since the msi isnt modified. I could also have many mst file for different configuration.

I would have loved to be able to just put the FEAD file and be able to extract it. Inside windows it was working, but inside setup it wasnt. Maybe because of a memory thing. I was testing in vmware with 64, 128 and 256Mb and each time I got the error. I read somewhere that the FEAD extractor could get errors if memory is too low... That could be it.

For a file 2Mb bigger than the original FEAD, I think what I did was successful :)

i think that i have found another way

extract the files from the original file

copy D:\WINDOWS\Cache\... to another directory

then all you have to do is edit setup.ini

[Startup]
CmdLine=/qn

now the installation is fully unattended :rolleyes::)

ummm...

do read.

he was trying to get the isntaller to work without extracting it or or recompressing it.

He obviously already had the switch thing down, and he created an MST to modify the MSI.
