Quickest, easiest 8.0 to 8.1 update?

I've no idea why MS would introduce new formats, or what might be the technical differences. For all I know ESD might stand for "Extended Surveillance Data" and is a ploy to add even more "telemetry points".

 

Well, in that vein, Windows 10 er... X might as well mean "eXtreme Surveilance Version"...

OR... ESD stands for "Extra Sqeezed Data".

 

How much bandwidth can you afford? Enough to download a large file (not ESD) or a smaller file (ESD)?

Now, one might wonder why they introduced it? The must be amirite?
