The only couple of progs that were attempted to be made to make true addons failed miserably.

 

The only real way to make a true addon is fully by hand. It is not a easy task...

 

Notepad2mod is my preferred editor for the ini and inf files you need to write to make a true addon.

Installer addons are generally far easier provided you know the switches to use.  In my opinion, if a program wasn't included with Windows then an installer-based addon is usually better--better compression on disc image, simpler integration, and more advanced installation methods are possible.

Several tools were created by members of the community and published on Siginet's forum, but the links are all dead.
