Windows Vista installation - does make sense?

I still fail to understand why people take vista over 7 when 7 is tweaked vista

unless i'm missing something magically hidden in vista ?

Yeah, Vista have "magical" things But now I'm using Windows 7 on Y510P, 'cause Vista don't want working good on this PC.

In an era where welcome the over simplification of general software. I suppose a watered down Vista is of no surprise amongst popular demand (JK)

Lol such an old topic though. Folks here get by happily on ole NT 5 based OSes, we're all using similar products none the less. If you can make it work, why fuss over it? I build my machines to have complete control. Not trying to step on anyone's toes though. Use whatever you wish.

Nice set of.. cores. Which are all in use instead of every other one being parked which 7 has a nasty habit of doing (which causes performance degration)

Basically core parking is meant to save power, when it does little in the way of that and decreases performance in the process..

@2008WindowsVista - Nvidia graphics drivers still aren't working. What I can do?

Try downloading the drivers from here, but choose Windows 7 as the OS.

I downloaded and ran the installer, and it appears that it also includes Vista drivers. I couldn't follow through completely with the setup since I don't have compatible hardware but it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot on your configuration.
