Kelsenellenelvian Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Yeah that's been kicked around in the about windows 10 thread. It's been known here for awhile. Also it looks like the "Free" upgrade option actually invalidates your previous license so there will be no going back either.

Versions of Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro will be cut off from Microsoft’s security patches leaving it wide open to attack. Security patches are distributed separately from CB, CBB and WSUS and without them that’s effectively a death sentence. So what they're saying is that having a piece of crap OS that's inherently as vulnerable as swiss cheese means you darn well better stay on the update path - or else! Anyone besides me see the sheer ridiculousness of that? -Noel
