bookie32 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Hi guys!I have checked drivers etc and can't see any problems...I can go through the shutdown process and the computer turns itself off 7 times out of 10 but just hangs at times....I usually hold in Power switch when this happens....funny thing is when Windows restarts I am not getting any warnings and can't see anything specific in the log?Has anyone any suggestions how to work out what it is?bookie32
Bug_zs Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Hi, I have no fix but an alternative for you. Batch files (or shortcuts to them) to put on your desktop.Computer Shutdown batch file:%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 0 -fComputer ReStart batch file:%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -t 0 -r -f
bookie32 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Hi Bug_zs!I appreciate the offer - but want to look for the cause first....bookie32
Tripredacus Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I would create a new user account, log into it, go to a website or something then try a shut down and see if it happens there. Its likely a running application causing the problem, and if you are lucky it will be profile specific. Meaning, a new user profile might not have that program.
