will a pci card work with an old legacy slot (pentium 1 comp, windows 98SE (not mine))

mainly a wireless network card (the type with the antenna) work in a legacy slot??

if by legacy you mean ISA

is that what they call 'em for the OLD motherboards, i guess i was thinking legacy devices, but i guess i meant ISA slots, (i just forgot what those type of slots were called)

but thank you

do they still make isa cards

nope.

ISA was phased out by the time Celeron and P3 made it to market.

IF the card fits in the slot, it may be an old PCI slot. PCI typically are WHITE, and ISA are the big long brown ones.

yup, ISA was phased out when intel and co designed the new layout for the ATX form factor if im not correct.. so if u see anyone selling ISA cards, there only for the old AT form factor computers..
