Blackbird256 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) Is there any way through group policy setting, registry etc. to get the old network dialog when you click on the icon in tray? Right now it opens that weird metro style sidebar and you can't right click on the connection, not to mentions it takes wayyy too much space. In 7 it only opened small window similar to volume and notifications in tray. I can't find any mention of it on google, but that may be because I don't know how it's called in Windows. To be more clear I mean thishttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f196/overcracker/webtech/wifisidebar.jpg Edited April 26, 2013 by Blackbird256
Aloha Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Can't you right-click on the network icon on the system tray? There is "Open Network and Sharing Center" when I right-click on it.
Blackbird256 Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) Thats not what I need. I want to manage several network adapters without going that far for no reason. Edited April 26, 2013 by Blackbird256
xpclient Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Yeah that's terrible in Windows 8. The "status" action also disappeared from the right click menu of the connection. It unnecessarily covers the notification area and the Windows 7 pane displayed virtual wi-fi (hosted wi-fi) connections too which this dumb Metro s*** doesn't show at all.
Blackbird256 Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 So I guess there is no workaround then? Shame
