Aaron
different corp key perhaps? News about this SP1 crackdown on warez keys can be found at: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/25423.html
Harley
Usa Today Click hereMicrosoft also will use the Windows update to crack down on software pirates: It identified a stolen unlocking combination widely distributed on the Internet to install Windows XP illegally.Microsoft's anti-piracy decision is not unprecedented and comes amid renewed debate in Washington about the adequacy of technology to protect copyrights. Microsoft previously used another software update to sabotage its Office business software electronically on computers it believed were running illegal copies. Gill Bates
I've heard that there's some way to patch or change your serial number by changing somthing in the registry that forces XP to ask you to reregister, than you can re-enter a new serial # that you've generated by the "all_xp_suite" thingy?Does anyone know the specific reg key to change, or the actual procedure that is required to do this? Aaron
Change Product Key without Reinstall:1. Run regedit and go to: HKey_Local_MachineSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrent VersionWPAEvents, on the right double click on "oobetimer" and change at least one digit of this value to deactivate windows.2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command:%systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a to get the activation screen and go to the second option which is activate by phone.3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type in the new product key (Corporate one only). 4. Close that window, reboot your system and enter the command in step 2 for the second time to verify your activation , you should see "windows is already activated". aKaFrEE
yeah..i think it's kind of pointless to exclude that Corp Key now..bc once the news started spreading people got kinda paraniod and just made thier own key...and M$ can't really do anything about that...now can they? mikey1001
I'm one of the lucky ones that's gonna be testing SP1 real soon, maybe even this week. I have a legal copy of XP Pro that MS gave me at the end of the XP beta, but on the weekend I decided to do a clean install using the corp files and key. I'll post here to let you know what happens. Personally, I don't expect there to be any kind of lockout. What about using an MSDN key? Not impossible to get...
WoRdUp48
What is this "all_xp_suite" thing that was mentioned above by Gill Bates? Is it a keygen or something? How can I get my hands on it? If it is small please email to: motomen2@ juno.com.If it is not, please direct me to where I may find it if indeed the SP1 for XP does disable the Corp. key. Thanks, I appreciate it.PS-Nice board here, I like it. Qba73
M$ are idiots...they announce that they will blacklist the FCKGW key and everyone scrambles to change there key,..which most mainstream sites already posted the how to's. now everyone dumps the f key and gets another key...if M$ were smart they would not of said anything and jus suprised us...unless they have something else planned?...HmmMy thinking is this, if you can write it, you can crack it..M$ against the tech community and its resolve..my money is on the techies..maybe if they wouldnt charge so **** much for the OS you wouldnt have so many pp screwing them..lol...jus a thought
bozoka45
Can someone please send me a PM or IM me or email me or something about this "all_xp_suite" thing? I have a few questions.
DarkStar723
Well, you see, the reason microshaft announced that they were preparing to blacklist the keys was where we could come up with an alternative. They would rather all of us use a pirated version of Windows xp than no version at all, because although they dont get as much out of a pirated version, they do still get money based on the number of windows xp users out there. So, it is in their best interest to keep the pirated users. Unfortunately for business, though, they have to make it appear that they would rather you be using another OS than a hacked Windows XP or the governement gets p***ed at them. I wouldn't be surprised really if they leaked the original keygen program...
