I don't need or use most of the items on the top menu. Can I modify and or remove some of them or at least reduce the size of the ribbon??

This worked on Home Premium. If you can not see your administrator account: Open command prompt (run as administrator) and use following command to enable Administrator account and set a password on it: net user Administrator v3ryStr()ngP4$$wOrd /ACTIVE:YES where "v3ryStr()ngP4$$wOrd" is a password you want to assign to account. Reboot and the Admin account should be available.
