over @ neowin there is talk of a new build, 1060 (up from 1050) to be exact, with bug fixes, and maybe more security, who knows and with sp1 now to be released by months end, one must wonder if this leaked version is it...the hunt for the link begins..lol

Thats The Product ID #, its a hash of your Key and hardwaRE code mashed into one id. the -64x- is the corp block.

This post of mine was souly meant for a heads up...there is no need to worry about not getting updates...Always remember "if it can be written i can be cracked" also Sp1 final will undoubtly be crack within hours of release. M$ has dared the tech community with WPA..and the techs will always get the last word...but M$ like you said has done a good job of curbing casual piracy. The internet itself has made M$ job alot tougher in the sense that if someone cracks something no on the net we all know about it..where as in the past (early 90's) it was kept relativly to your own circle or word of mouth

Speaking to a friend today who Deals with M$ has informed me of some news that i think you guys should know. the KeyGen floating around that everyone and there mother must have by now, will in fact not work with the corp edition. It will however work on the Reg Pro and Home edition, at least for now. Reason it will not work for the Corp is cause of the fact that M$ Does leep track of all the VLK's it issues. And when the RTM Sp1 comes out it will deny you access to windows update..and might even lock your computer out forcing a reinstall..however M$ will likly not inculde the latter jus incase it wacks a legit comp...so to tell you the truth if your comp is working fine, sp1 is totally uneccessary. M$ lkeeps track of the VLK's it issues to its mass customers, and if you update to sp1 and your generated copy does not match there internal Database..well then you out in the cold without a coat. The reason SP1 works now with the generated keys is due in part to the fact that it is still a beta, and has only some of the security features implemented..but not all of them. when the final release comes out it will be a diffrent animal than what you see today. M$ closely monitors all forums and records any keys posted (generated ones) and uses our own forums against us, and as guinea pigs. Eventually it is said that they will monitor home and reg pro keys, but for now its logistcally impossible. People who use exsisting corp keys live another day simply because M$ will not go to their mass customers and tell them or issue them a new key..it would cost M$ too much $ in manhours it would have to pay its mass customers to change there keys in their exsisting systems (surely you dont think the customer will pay for M$'s dream of a secure WPA) at least not yet. There is already talk that Longhorn will not incorporate the debackle known as WPA. M$ will eventually downplay WPA cause its a fight that cannot be won...my long time saying of "if it can be written, it can be cracked" comes to mind...ever since win 3.1 to now, History and the future is in the techies favor..M$ will have to rethink its strategy, the more limitations it places on a user and or the price increases just breeds and dares pp to crack them...and with linux fast approaching M$ should choose its battles wisely.. Food for thought The internet plays a great role in M$ troubles , cause back in the early 90's the internet was not what it is today, meaning if you were a techie and cracked windows or pirated it, it was kept relatively to your circle, now the internet has made the world a lot smaller and a lot more complicated for M$...maybe this is why thier focus is the internet now....Think about it However the keygen is not the once thought of silver lining for all the techies.

installed sp1 on a test comp and (obviously i'll wait for the RTM for my baby) and i found that the Add/remove programs comes up with an error when you click on it..something about appswiz and or run.dll...needless to say i reverted back to the Luna theme (original) and still does not work..ps also unistalled style xp maually and with regcleaner...can anyone help?

Blackwar..still no go the **** option used to be there..i used to go to the folder open the pic and rtclick and the option was there and now its not..even tried the tweakui to look for the option...seems to have disappeared when i installed office xp, one of the sub installations was microsoft photo viewer...maybe that had something to do with it...ps thanks for taking the time.

M$ are idiots...they announce that they will blacklist the FCKGW key and everyone scrambles to change there key,..which most mainstream sites already posted the how to's! now everyone dumps the f key and gets another key...if M$ were smart they would not of said anything and jus suprised us...unless they have something else planned?...Hmm My thinking is this, if you can write it, you can crack it..M$ against the tech community and its resolve..my money is on the techies..maybe if they wouldnt charge so **** much for the OS you wouldnt have so many pp screwing them..lol...jus a thought. Usually when you right click on a jpeg it gives you an option to "set as background",...well it used to be there now its gone..how can i get it back? thx in advance

Question, doesnt M$ have a database with all its corp keys it issues? in theory wouldnt a generated one not match there database and thus lockout updates...it is already said you won't be frozen on the copy you have installed, you jus wont be able to get updates..and really if your XP works fine why do you even need the updates..besides its true if you can write it you can crack it..so its jus a matter of time b4 you have a workaround...M$ against the Tech community of the world and its resolve?..my money is on the wOrLd..
