That looks correct. I did not try and download the files, but it looks like they are there.

You forgot the upload the setupapi.dev.log. The setup fails due to USB driver issues:

this causes the rollback. Do you find the USB drivers in version 6.1.7600.16788? Try to remove this updates:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2529073/en-us

reboot and try to install Sp1 again.

when i try to instal kb2529073, I get the message that it is already installed. When looking at my installed programs, I cannot find it. Do you want me to upload "setupapi.dev.log" to you??

I uninstalled KB2529073 and then reinstalled. Service Pack 1 initially says it is installed and asks for restart. After the restart I get the same ole message that installation was not successful. Is this ever going to end????

only remove the update, reboot and make sure it was removed correctly.

Now try to install the Sp1 again. If it fails, upload all the logs again (this time with the setupapi log included)

The update was uninstalled and reinstalled correctly.

@west117wolf, If I understand, you uninstalled the kb2529073 update then reinstalled it. But if I understood Andre correctly, and I'm not sure I did, I think he meant to uninstall it and NOT reinstall it before installing SP1

only remove the update, reboot and make sure it was removed correctly.

Now try to install the Sp1 again. If it fails, upload all the logs again (this time with the setupapi log included)

I'm sure Andre will correct me if I misunderstood.

Cheers and Regards

yes, try to ONLY remove this update and not install it again. The Sp1 still fails at the same point:

if this also doesn't work repair your Windows:

and after this install the Sp1.

SP1...did not install successfully after uninstalling KB2529073. I clicked on the link" " But I am at a loss of what to do. I do not have a disk from Dell(computer manufacturer) to do a repair. Dell did not send me one when I got the computer and now they will not give me one because they said it was sent with the computer.

When I connected to the web site it was very confusing regarding what do I download. Can you give me more specific instructions re the website??
