What's a Good brand of scotch

Please recommend a great or good brand of scotch. I would like to buy a bottle for new years. This is the only type of drink I have not had. Thanks

I very much like Glenfiddich but Chivas Regal and Johnnie Walker are perfectly fine too. Glenfiddich is a single malt (from the Speyside region specifically) whereas Chivas Regal and Johnnie Walker are blended scotches (neither is inherently better). I'm no scotch expert though, I just drink the stuff (and pretty much everything else with alcohol in it)
